FAQ

How far is the a-frame from Denver?

According to Google Maps, it’s less than an hour from Union Station in downtown Denver and approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Denver International Airport.

What time is check in and check out?

Check-in is at 3 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m. Giving us advanced notice allows us to coordinate cleanings, maintenance, etc .

How many people does it sleep?

This a-frame sleeps four. Four adults is the max, especially if you’re intending to the use the hot tub as it only accommodates 4.

We have two rooms. The master has a king bed with an adjustable bed frame and the second room has a queen bed and one twin. We think the a-frame is best suited as a romantic mountain getaway near Denver or a small friend/family gathering of four.

Park County does not allow rentals to have more people than our septic was built for, so we’re limited to the number of occupants we can host, which is also why we do not host wedding parties/receptions.

Can I bring my pet?

No, sorry. We have a pet, and we love bringing him when we travel, so we totally get it. However, due to the wildlife in the area and Airbnb not supporting homeowners when pets cause damage, we’ve decided not to allow pets. However, we do welcome service dogs.

What will the weather be like?

Colorado weather is difficult to predict, especially in the winter. Colorado gets over 300 days of sun, so while you could experience a handful of snowy days from Oct – May(ish) it’s likely you’ll also have some sunny skis during your stay.

October-May: Snow could technically fall anytime of year, but around Halloween is often the start of our snow storms. January and February are the coldest months. March is often known to be the snowiest month, but by the next stay it’s usually sunny and warm.

April-May start to warm up with the occasional late snowstorm. Around late April into May you’ll start to see daffodils pop up and everything begins to turn green around the a-frame.

Snow: If your trip hinges on seeing snow you may want to look at staying at a higher elevation (like a ski town) where temperatures stay colder and snow sits longer.

June through September: During the summer, occasionally leading into September we often see afternoon rainstorms. These are great because they cool the temperatures down (and help us avoid wildfires). If you plan to spend your time hiking/outside we recommend going in the mornings to avoid them.

Sept-October: this “off season” is actually my favorite. September and October are beautiful with the aspens turning yellow, cooler temperatures, and the afternoon rainstorms coming to an end.

What makes the a-frame unique?

We put our whole heart into this remodel—doing all the work ourselves. We never skimped on materials and amenities because it’s “just a rental.” We want your stay to be above and beyond the average vacation stay.

Every single detail was thoughtfully designed and curated with your experience in mind. We hope you love it as much as we do! You can read about it here.
